Responsible Investment Policy

EQT’s mission is to support the development of its portfolio companies to build long term value and generate superior returns for its investors.

EQT's Responsible Investment Policy (RI Policy) is an integral part of EQT's business model. It is a long-term commitment and supports the development and competitiveness of EQT's portfolio companies.

In 2010, EQT adopted a comprehensive policy that covers responsible investment (RI) practices. It includes what is expected of EQT as an investor as well as what EQT expects from its portfolio companies. Since December 2010, EQT is also a signatory to the United Nations-backed Principles for Responsible Investment Initiative (UN PRI).

The RI Policy's main guiding principles are to consider factors such as the environment, labor and human rights and ethics when a potential investment is assessed. Once an investment has been made, EQT seeks to act as a responsible owner at all times and to promote awareness and high standards for ethics, environmental and labor and human rights practices.

Examples of factors that are highlighted in the RI Policy are limitations and reductions of the emission of harmful substances and waste, limiting and reducing consumption of scarce resources, zero-tolerance regarding child labor, various types of discrimination and corruption and unethical business practices, promoting the right to collective bargaining and actively seeking positive involvement with stakeholders and communities.
